Are online sewing classes really worth it?

Absolutely! While YouTube sewing tutorials are great for quick tips, paid online sewing classes offer structured learning, professional guidance, and in-depth instruction.

Here’s why paid platforms can be a game-changer:

  1. Expert Guidance: You’re learning from seasoned pros who know their stuff inside and out.
  2. Step-by-Step Learning: Classes are structured, so you’re not piecing random tips together. You actually build skills.
  3. Feedback: Some platforms even let you ask questions or interact with the instructor for personalized help!

So, if you’re serious about leveling up your sewing, it’s worth it!

I’ve described why I cherish and appreciate and take online sewing classes. But first, the list:

Craftsy has long been my favorite platform for online sewing classes, and I was thrilled when it made a comeback!

I love their courses because they are high-quality, user-oriented, and I’ll admit, also for the expert instructors who are passionate about sewing and have years of experience under their belts. Some of my favorite pattern designers, too! They provide clear and concise instructions, along with plenty of tips and tricks to help you get the most out of each lesson.

Lately, I revisited some of the classics, some just to remember and refresh my sewing memory, and some to learn new things. Always so much fun! And I’ve just added a handful of my favorite-ever bag-making classes, and yes I did revisit most of them just recently. (Yes they are THAT good.)

Craftsy offers a wide range of sewing classes, from beginner to advanced levels, so you can pick and choose the ones that are right for you.
