Welcome back to another seasonal sewing pattern roundup! I recently made one of these for summer, and so I thought I’d do the same for the cooler months as well. In this post you’ll find 15 cute, cozy, and totally free sewing patterns for fall and winter. Let’s jump into it!

15 Free Sewing Patterns for Fall & Winter

Closet Core T-Shirt

A t-shirt is a great basic to have in fall and winter for layering under sweaters and jackets. This pattern from Closet Core has a crew neck and boxy fit, and comes with two sleeve and two length options.

Peppermint Jersey Top

The Jersey Top from Peppermint Magazine is another solid option for a basic tee. This one has three-quarter length sleeves and is shown here in a mix of striped and solid fabrics for a colour blocked look.

Mood Noelle Sweater

The Noelle Sweater collection from Mood is the perfect cozy fall trio of a poncho, sweater dress, and toque (or beanie). If you’re not a knitter, this is a great way to have something me-made to keep you warm.

Tessuti Monroe Turtleneck

The Monroe Turtleneck from Tessuti Fabrics is the perfect fall-weather staple. I love the boxy fit and dropped shoulders, and the full turtleneck is sure to keep you warm.

FS Jade Relaxed Linen Shirt

The Jade Shirt is a classic linen button down with yoke, sleeve cuffs, and a standing collar. Make it in a heavier-weight linen for the cooler months, and wear it layered under a cardigan or over a slim-fit sweater for extra warmth.

Peppermint West End Jacket

The West End Jacket by Peppermint Magazine is a gender-neutral chore jacket made in collaboration with Camimade Patterns. It features big patch pockets and can be made in a variety of woven fabrics to suit the season and your personal style.

FS Paola Workwear Jacket

Another chore coat option is the Paola Workwear Jacket. I’ve had it on my to-make list for a while, and I’m thinking I’ll need to get around to it this season. I think it would look great in a canvas, denim, or even waxed cotton.

Mood Savannah Shacket

Who doesn’t love a good shacket (aka shirt jacket) for fall? The Savannah Shacket from Mood is a great option for this seasonal staple. Keep it classic and make it in a plaid flannel, or try something like a cozy boiled wool.

FS Mara Painter Coat

The Mara Painter Coat is an A-line coat with collar, button-up front, and back vent for movement. I love the longer style of this coat and can imagine it being the perfect transitional weather piece in a heavier weight linen.

Mood Clark Coat

The Clark Coat is a statement coat made with coating fabrics in mind, such as boiled wool or boucle. It’s fully lined and sure to keep you warm this winter.

EllaHarp Work Dress

I came across the Work Dress in a YouTube video and fell in love with its simplicity. It has a crew neck with dropped shoulders, long sleeves and a gathered skirt. The style makes it suitable for any season; I think it could even be worn in winter over leggings or layered under a chunky knit.

FS Sky Shirt Dress

The Sky Shirt Dress is a classic silhouette with button-down bodice, long sleeves, and collar. The contrasting topstitching adds some more interest to an otherwise straightforward dress.

Peppermint Valley Jumpsuit

If jumpsuits are your style, then the Valley Jumpsuit from Peppermint will be right up your alley. I love the comfort of the elastic waistband that cinches it in at the waist, as well as the wide elbow-length sleeves.

FS Lois Pants

The Lois Pants feature a paperbag waist detail that for some reason just feels appropriate for fall to me. I’d love to tuck a slim mockneck into these and layer a cardigan overtop for the perfect autumnal look.

Peppermint Wide Leg Pants

You just can’t go wrong with a silhouette like the Wide Leg Pants from Peppermint Magazine. They’re a classic pair of trousers that would work well in anything from washed cotton canvas to a heavier weight denim.

That’s it for this free fall & winter pattern roundup! Which of these would you love to make this season? Let me know in the comments!
