When we’re not serving our customers, unpacking fabric deliveries and planning our next quilting projects, we’re to be found in our own sewing rooms stitching away. Here is a selection of recent makes by The Sewing Studio team to inspire your next project.
This quilted beach bag made with the Northcott Midas Touch collection was a quick project for Louisa, one of our sales assistants. She specializes in sewing & embroidery machine sales at our sewing machine showroom in Redruth. We love how she free motion quilted along the along the watermark and metallic lines of the fabric (she chose the Midas Touch plum panel). She uses a Janome Memory Craft 6700P with the Janome Freemotion Foot.
Next up, is this Ruby Star Chore jacket made by Jenny. She is a sales assistant too and an all-round crafting and crochet genius. You’ll find a link to the pattern in the description here. The fun Ruby Star Society Jolie Toweling collection is ideal for a variety of summer themed projects like bag making, cushions and clothing. It comes in 4 vibrant colourways for you to choose from. Jenny said it was super easy to make and completed in just two evenings! Jenny sews on her Janome 5060 QDC Sewing Machine (as seen on the Sewing Bee!).
She also used Moda Bella Solid Cayenne for the pocket details and Gutermann Sew All Thread
Finally, Mary, our resident dress maker, has made these gorgeous dresses for her little granddaughter. Mary used fabric which has now sold out but we have plenty of very similar alternatives available including Peter Rabbit Home Grown and Lewis & Irene Clearbury Down or Livin’ On The Hedge. Mary sews on a Janome MC6700 P sewing machine which she loves.
If you’d like us to feature a recent project you’ve made, drop us an email to sales@thesewingstudio.co.uk with some snaps, a description of what you’ve made and what you made it with. We regularly share your works of art on our socials to inspire other makers and creators.
